Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been doing art. Our art this week is basically two koru with patterns in between it. To begin we’ve been practicing on a piece of paper which had a couple of koru with patterns on it already but it was really light so we had to trace over it. There were four practice Mahi Toi (Mahi Toi is art in Maori) on the piece of paper. When people had finished all the practices they then practiced shading, I find doing shading really difficult. If a person feels ready they can move onto the real thing. I found doing the Mahi Toi hard because I can’t really draw or trace that well, and I can’t shade either. Do you enjoy doing art?
