Wonderous Wonder Project

Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been doing the Wonder Project. There are two people who come in every Wednesday and talk to us about science. They mainly talk about the careers there are that relate to science and rockets. We have started to make prototypes of rockets and next week we’re going to launch them. I’m not really interested in science (unless it’s geography or history) but I have enjoyed the Wonder Project. Do you like any type of science?

Here is some of the work we have done

Te Reo Māori

Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have been learning some Te Reo Māori. We read a story that was written in Māori to help us with our pronunciation. The first time we read the book there was an English translation. Now we are writing a few sentences of our own about sports. We will be screen castifying them soon. I found this activity very frustrating at first because Google Translate was making up words and then didn’t think some words were words, or it mistranslated a phrase, but eventually it got easier because Whaea Chrissy told us to use a Māori Dictionary. Do you know much Te Reo Māori?

Here is some of the book, if you want to read the book here is a link. If it doesn't work sorry.

Movie Making

Kia ora, in Te Ngahere we have started learning, planning and scripting our movies. We were learning about the types of movies and angles you could put the camera on. The reason we are doing this is for the Film Festival, the Film Festival is an annual event which multiple schools participate in by making films. We are making an action movie but we haven’t come up with a name for it yet. Last year I didn’t get to go to the Film Festival because my group never made a movie so this year I’m hoping my group and I can make a movie so we can go to the Film Festival. Have you ever made a short movie before? Goodbye.
